A 50-year-old cruise ship, a complete conversion, 6 months time — not an everyday project, but a perfect challenge for our Becker Marine Systems team. The result is convincing: With the new Becker Flap Rudder, the turning circle of the Amera, formerly Prinsendam, has been significantly reduced. The crabbing abilities dramatically improved. The cruise ship is now easier and safer to manoeuvre. The stern thruster became a back-up device. In addition, the use of tugboats and the associated costs can now be eliminated in many places. The Amera is now ready for the future!
